Our Business
Introduction
Stevens Garnier began life in 1976 supplying wines to the UK independent wine trade. This still remains a cornerstone of the business but over the years we have expanded our customer base to penetrate all sectors of the market.
After a 20 year collaboration, our recent acquisition by the Portuguese producer Sogrape, brings with it not only Portuguese table wines, but the Port houses of Sandeman and Offley, as well as their international wineries, Finca Flichman(Argentina), Los Boldos (Chile) and Ribbonwood (New Zealand). This together with our expanding portfolio of globally based agency partners, strengthens our position as a market leader.
Everything we do today is designed to deliver top quality wine, excellence in customer service and the strongest commercial packages possible to all our customers, big and small.
Marketing
Marketing is becoming ever more important in the world of wine. Our in-house team likes nothing better than a challenge and, like Olympic gymnasts, they’re pretty flexible.
We provide all the services you’d expect from a top wine agency – promotions, wine lists, tent cards, posters and the like – and we’re equally enthusiastic about the ideas that you feel can make your business even more successful. So if you have an idea tell us. We won’t pass it through a series of committees. We don’t even have committees. We’ll give you answers there and then.
Service
We treat each of our customers like our business depends on it – because, quite simply, it does. Our sales force has over 200 years of experience and we take great pride in our personal level of service and the attention to detail we can bring you. When you call us you won’t encounter an automated switchboard, just good old fashioned humans with a brain and a problem solving attitude.
It doesn’t stop there. We value our wine as much as our customers. To ensure that your wine reaches you in perfect condition, when and where you want it, we work closely with Octavian as our storage and nationwide delivery partner.
Wine
The cornerstone of our success over the years has been the quality of our wine portfolio and the strength of our relationships with those who produce them around the globe. We choose them - or sometimes they choose us - because we share the same philosophy. From the largest, like our owners Sogrape, to the smallest, with only a few exceptions, they are all family owned operations.
All are quality focused with a flexible and realistic approach to this complex and ever-evolving market. All have a strong commitment to the UK, who appreciate that lasting success can only be built with patience, understanding and hard work.
