Another Award for Sogrape's Herdade do Peso
Tuesday 15th May 2012
Created on impulse by Louis Havaux, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was held for the very first time in April 1994 in... Bruges! If 'only' 861 samples were then recorded (an exploit in itself considering that they were gathered in 2 months), the international dimension, with 29 participating countries, was set to continue.
In 2006, the Concours Mondial decided to affirm its international character by going beyond its borders. The organizing committee chose Lisbon for this première occasion. Maastricht, Bordeaux, Valencia, Sicily and Luxembourg followed.
In 2012, the Concours Mondial took place in Guimarães, Portugal, in early May. Fitting, therefore, that this superb Portuguese wine from Sogrape's state-of-the-art winery in the Alentejo should be a Gold medal Winner.
Herdade do Peso Reserva is a high-quality, complex and elegant wine, made only in exceptional years. It is representative of the grandeur and vitality of the wines from the Alentejo region. The brand encapsulates the essence of the Alentejo. With the expertise and knowledge of the Sogrape Vinhos winemaking team, Herdade do Peso represents the best of the Alentejo and reveals itself in a range of sophisticated wines, whose flavours, aromas and characters recalls life at its best.
