Chile
A long sliver of land sandwiched in between the mighty Andes mountains and the vastness of the Pacific Ocean that stretches some 5000 km from the northern Atacama desert to the Lakeland regions of Patagonia in the far south. The sheer distance and change in latitude, provides a series of unique climatic conditions and almost no matter what the grape variety, Chile will find a suitable home for it. The country's isolation has given it another bonus in that it is famously phyloxera free. The long dry summers ensure healthy, perfectly ripe fruit and that purity comes through strongly in all the wines.
