Bests Wines
The Best's Winery dates back to 1866, and still has a unique collection of unidentified pre-phylloxera vines. The success of the wines is attributable to three vineyard areas, each producing distinctly different grape characteristics from vines aged between 10 and 140 years. Concongella takes its name from the creek that runs alongside it. The vines enjoy a perfect, cool temperate climate. Salvation Hills is located in the Great Western region, which is slightly cooler than Concongella and produces excellent fruit. St. Andrews is further north near Lake Boga, and produces smooth, fresh, wines with pronounced fruit flavours.
