If you are visiting the Loire, Chateau Moncontour is a must to add to your itinerary. The winery is built into the side of the hill directly below the Chateau and uses gravity to convey the juice from the presses to the fermentation vats. The still wines produced from Chenin Blanc make a delicate, easy-to-drink aperitif and the méthode traditionnelle is elegant and aromatic.
