Alto Cachapoal, a sub region of the wider Rapel Valley, where our winery Vina Los Boldos is located, is one of the most exciting viticultural areas in Chile. As the name suggests altitude is the key: The large diurnal temperature variations give greater natural acidity to the wines, whilst the increased sunlight exposure gives thicker skins, better colour and deeper flavours. It's best known for its red wines and cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, merlot and carmenere all perform wonderfully in these conditions.
