Southern France - the wine trade's catch all term for anything that doesn't come from the north, the middle, Bordeaux, Burgundy or the Rhone - In other words rather a lot! In commercial terms it's a power house of entry level, modern wines and at the same time it's the teeming home to hundreds of truly idiosyncratic, boutique wineries. The area is vast, dotted with beautiful old vine vineyards and, perhaps only with the exception of Italy, has the broadest plantings of grape varieties on the planet! For wine lovers, wine buyers and wine sellers alike, there's a lot to like down here.
