The Dao region in the mountainous north central area of Portugal is finally, and largely thanks to our friends at Sogrape, beginning to fulfil its true potential. Why it has taken so long is anyone's guess; on the surface of it the growing conditions are more than ideal. Sheltered by the mountains from the Atlantic influence, high altitude, a myriad of old vine, indigenous grape varieties and hot dry conditions during the growing season and harvest, mean it is God's very own place for growing grapes!
