» Galicia

Galicia, resting on the atlantic coast of north west Spain, shot to fame in the UK about ten years ago with a then little known white wine called Albariño (which is named after the grape that produces it) from an unpronounceable DO called Rias Baixas . Now it is a must on good wine lists everywhere. The Galician climate is cool and wet, very marginal for grape growing in fact, but the best growers – and we work with Bodegas As Laxas who are one of them – somehow consistently manage to deliver great fruit and make great wine.
