France » Bordeaux » Barsac

One of the great sweet wine appellations in the world lying on the left bank of the Garonne next door to its illustrious neighbour Sauternes. Generally speaking the sand and limestone soils that predominate here produce a lighter, fresher style of wine than those of Sauternes. This extra lift and minerality lends the wines real versatility and thus are lovely as an aperitif as well as with dessert.
