Tasting notes
A delicious aromatic full-flavoured rose, with cherry and ripe fruit characters which will complement grilled seabass, a basil and cherry tomato salad, or try with crispy duck.
Production method
A blend of 50% Malbec and 50% Shiraz grapes. The Shiraz undergoes cold maceration to deliver maximum flavours, colour and aromatics. The Malbec is crushed for straight bleeding of the grapes. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and the wine is stored until required for bottling.
Producer notes
Winemaker Luis Cabral de Almeida asserts that Flichman is all about "Attitude with Altitude", which is why the winery is enjoying such success today. Following significant investment from Portuguese owners, Sogrape, massive vineyard expansion has allowed Flichman to experiment, innovate and excite. Unique to Flichman is the specific location of the Barrancas estate at 700 metres above sea level. Vineyards are planted on the old Mendoza river-bed, where the stony soils are ideally suited for Syrah. Flichman has also planted vineyards in Tupungato, at 1100m, where the distinctive climatic conditions lend additional acidity and complexity to the wines.
