Tasting notes

A well-balanced, supple and fleshy wine with oodles of ripe fruit (plums), good structure and well-integrated tannins. Drink with poultry dishes and mild cheeses.

Production method

Traditional temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats. Maceration is long - 45 to 50 days - with final maceration at 35C. Wine is matured in concrete vats.

Producer notes

Scratch the surface of Bordeaux and all is as it seems. Beneath the glamour of a small, elite cartel of 50 Grand Cru estates and their fairytale Châteaux are close on 10,000 producers battling for survival - their voices struggling to be heard. Bordeaux Confidential is the story of eight such producers - a story of hard work over privilege and the love of wine over the love of money. It's a story that deserves to be told. After all, great quality, affordable claret - with history and a unique sense of place - is one of life's most thrilling drinks.
