Tasting notes
A powerful wine with typical 'Fraonsac' personality. Round and supple with plenty of ripe fruit and well-integrated tannins. Will cellar well in the short term.
Production method
Traditional winemaking in thermo-regulated concrete vats. Cold maceration prior to fermentation. Malo-lactic fermentation in (40%) new and used oak barrels for a period of 15-18 months.
Producer notes
Scratch the surface of Bordeaux and all is as it seems. Beneath the glamour of a small, elite cartel of 50 Grand Cru estates and their fairytale Châteaux are close on 10,000 producers battling for survival - their voices struggling to be heard. Bordeaux Confidential is the story of eight such producers - a story of hard work over privilege and the love of wine over the love of money. It's a story that deserves to be told. After all, great quality, affordable claret - with history and a unique sense of place - is one of life's most thrilling drinks.
