Very fruity, with aromas and flavours of red cherries, raspberries and hints of spice. Ideal with pizza, pasta, barbecued platters and red meats.
Temperature-controlled fermentation with pumping over is followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is kept on its fine lees for at least two months. There is no oak ageing.
Winemaker Andrea Valentinuzzi has a lot on his plate and not just fine Mediterranean seafood ! With a few thousand hectares of vineyards in Western Sicily to manage, a state of the art winery and more grape varieties than your average MW could name, it takes one hell of a talented winemaker to master all of that. An alchemist in the winery then but, at these prices, he's also bending the laws of Physics!
