Château Moncontour, surrounded by the largest single vineyard in Vouvray, looms over the Loire at Rochecorbon. The wine, made directly beneath the Château, is clean, flowery 100% Chenin Blanc (as the AOC demands) of an incomparable freshness of style.

Production method

Temperature-controlled fermentation followed by 6 months in stainless steel vat.

If you are visiting the Loire, Chateau Moncontour is a must to add to your itinerary. The winery is built into the side of the hill directly below the Chateau and uses gravity to convey the juice from the presses to the fermentation vats. The still wines produced from Chenin Blanc make a delicate, easy-to-drink aperitif and the méthode traditionnelle is elegant and aromatic.
