Tasting notes
Vibrant golden yellow in colour with green reflections. On the nose grapefruit and exotic fruits, plus some citrus notes. Extraordinarily fresh on the palate, but also rich and opulent - giving a sense of well-being. Drink as an aperitif with canapés, or as an accompaniment to turbot with buerre blanc.
Production method
Temperature-controlled fermentation in vat, followed by 6 months ageing in vat on the fine lees to add volume and complexity.
Producer notes
The estate was purchased by Stéphane Vedeau in 2008, and combines 44ha of mature vines, planted with typical Southern Rhône varieties. It is spectacularly set on a 410m high plateau opposite Mont Ventoux to the south east of the town of Valréas, an hour or so north of Avignon. The winery, cut into the hillside, is state-of-the-art and gravity fed, providing the perfect environment for fine wine production, but it's the combination of Northern Rhône altitude and Southern Rhône grape varieties that makes this place unique.
