Tasting notes

A deep ruby in colour with purple glints, the bouquet is powerful and distinctive. On the palate the wine is well-balanced and fruity with a long and exquisite finish. The tannins in the wine ensure its longevity, and it will mature well in bottle Ideal partner for red meats and game.

Production method

Temperature-controlled fermentation followed by maturation: a third in new oak, a third in 1 year old small oak casks and a third in stainless steel.

Producer notes

The Domaine de la Présidente takes the best from time-honoured procedures for wine making and combines them with various new techniques to produce some magnificent, award-winning wines from the Côtes du Rhône and Chateauneuf du Pape. The Estate in Sainte Cecile-des-Vignes dates from the 17th century, and became national property after the French Revolution in 1789. The Domaine now comprises 120 ha. between Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas. The diversity of terroir in the vineyards offers the benefits of different geological strains and micro-climates – allowing the wines to express all the characteristic aromas and powerful flavours of the region.
