Tasting notes

Grapes are hand-sorted and de-stemmed. Temperature-controlled fermentation is followed by ageing in old oak barrels for 12 months.

Production method

Brilliant, deep ruby red with intense aromas of red fruits, pepper, spice and liquorice. Full-bodied and powerful, with excellent balance and a long finish. A rich and elegant wine.

Producer notes

The winery was established in 1806, and is now owned and run by father and daughter team of Bernard and Céline Chauvet. The estate comprises just over 20ha with 15ha in Gigondas and 2ha in Vacqueyras. Old vine fruit and minimal use of oak produces rich, full-bodied yet elegant wines, with good balance, a long finish and excellent ageing potential.
