Tasting notes
Dry, with good fruit, freshness and appeal. Delightful Sauvignon fruit is lifted by racy Semillon. Remarkably elegant, and a good all-rounder for an inexpensive wine.
Production method
Direct pressure, selection of juice followed by temperature-controlled fermentation at 17C. The wine is left on its lees for a six month period after racking for maximum development of aromas.
Producer notes
The Chateau consists of 36 ha and belongs to the 6th generation Alard family. Best known for their botrytis Monbazillacs, which are barrel fermented from 80% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Muscadelle, the Alards also produce fine Bergerac red wines from Cabernets Sauvignon & Franc, and dry white from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
